The Promenade

In addition to being an elaborate event that some view as a teenage rite of passage, prom night has also become a great excuse for yet another party...a Pre-Prom Party. Typically one prom-goer will invite his/her friends and their families over for a small bash prior to the main event. The party is a great way to set the tone for the rest of the evening, and to provide a ton of photo opportunities. Here are a few ways to enhance pre-prom festivities:

In keeping with the formal theme of the evening, send out stylish invitations to guests...who doesn't appreciate a little bling?

Send the prom-bound guests off with a "survival kit" to get them through the night. Include a bunch of items that the teens will be totally grateful for after hours of partying...

Package the "survival kit" in prom-inspired gift bags...

Since there will be different generations in attendance at the party, put together a music playlist that everyone will enjoy. Check out the site playlist.com for great suggestions. I recommend the Top 80's Prom list - remember Don't Stop Believing, Open Arms, Faithfully? Okay forget the playlist, just pull out your old Journey albums...
